A beautiful sunny day paved the way for a
very successful opening reception and awards
presentation. It was standing room only, as
guests packed the cabaret room at the Bergen
Performing Arts Center for the scholarship
and awards presentation. MY 9 News reporter

special guest artist Faith Ringgold
captivated the audience with the reading of
her poem Where Dreams Come From. |

Julia Sylvester,
senior at YCS Fort Lee Education Center, was
chosen as the Blossoms’ Scholarship winner
for the sensitivity of her poetry and
complexity of her artwork . The scholarship
was donated by Harold and Doris Williams,
Peter Bourke and Barbara Markell. |
