You can help YCS keep children safe and families together in times of crisis &#8212; and beyond.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Purpose<\/strong> &#8211; Since 1918, YCS has brought life-changing success to New Jersey\u2019s most vulnerable children. Today, YCS is one of New Jersey\u2019s leading non-profit provider of comprehensive behavioral health and mental health services for children with special needs &#8212; helping thousands of young people build healthier, happier, more hopeful lives.<\/p>\n<p><strong> In 2010, YCS expanded its Sawtelle Services for individuals with intellectual\/developmental disabilities and co-ocurring mental health challenges. Since the opening of our first Sawtelle Home in Camden in 2010 for 4 boys affected by autism, YCS Sawtelle has opened\u00a0more than 20\u00a0homes for approximately 100 individuals 5 through adulthood.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Mission<\/strong> &#8211; To partner with at-risk and special needs children, youth and young adults to build happier, healthier, more hopeful lives within their families and communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Impact<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We provide in-home, residential, educatonal, and community-based services for\u00a0approximately\u00a06,000 children\/young adults and their families each day<\/li>\n<li>We serve children from birth through adulthood<\/li>\n<li>We serve a racially and ethnically diverse population, largely from urban, lower income\u00a0areas across New Jersey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<strong>YCS maintains\u00a0approximately 65 programs throughout New Jersey:<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Residential care \u00a0for over\u00a0520 children with mental health challenges\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Residential care for\u00a0over 100 children and adults with I\/DD\/MI<\/li>\n<li>A special education school\u00a0and autism learning center<\/li>\n<li>Specialized foster care services<\/li>\n<li>Counseling, case management and family preservation services to\u00a0approximately 500 families\u00a0in\u00a0the community\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Case for Support YCS values our supporters and volunteers as true partners, and we offer many ways to get involved.
