The Dr. Helen May Strauss (HMS) Clinics provide comprehensive mental health services for children from birth to age 21, offering bilingual support (English & Spanish) to families facing emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges.
Our licensed clinics accept self-referrals and referrals from physicians, schools, and mental health providers, with funding from the New Jersey Division of Mental Health, Department of Children and Families, private grants, and Medicaid reimbursement.

Autism Detection and Intervention (DCI) Program
Our Detection-Connection-Intervention (DCI) initiative enhances early detection of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in underserved communities by:
- Facilitating early autism screenings
- Connecting families with peer support networks
- Providing evaluations and DIR Floortime interventions for at-risk children
This initiative is a collaborative effort with:
- Rutgers NJ Medical School – Early detection
- SPAN Parent Advocacy Network – Peer support
- Youth Consultation Service (YCS) – Intervention services
Passaic County Service Coordination Unit (PCSCU)
Our Early Intervention Service Coordination Unit (EISCU) provides care coordination for infants and toddlers (0-3 years old) with developmental needs. Service Coordinators assist families by:
- Developing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs)
- Connecting them to essential developmental services
- Navigating complex community resource networks
