We provide services that educate, shelter, advocate and care for children in need, and their families, so that each can further develop the skills, self-worth, and hope necessary for success within their communities.

Our individualized approach to serving children and families in need has earned us a reputation for providing high quality, success-oriented treatment programs.

Heart Gallery Photos

The Heart Gallery of New Jersey, Inc. is a unique not-for-profit corporation dedicated to raising awareness about foster children available for adoption.

A number of these children considered "hardest to place" are or have been in YCS' care in either its treatment homes or therapeutic residences.  Through the efforts of Heart Gallery volunteers, some of the country's most prestigious photographers portraits are taken that help capture the individuality and spirit of each foster child who is eligible to be adopted. These photographs were first shared via the web and through gallery exhibits in 2005 with the hope that potential families will be moved to inquire about adoption.  The second exhibit has recently opened at the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City.

Sisters Dana and Della, and the other children in YCS foster care are part of this gallery.  Please click here to view.

Tribute Cards are now available

The beautiful artwork for this card was created by thirteen year-old Ashley, a recent graduate from YCS George Washington School. Individual cards are available for $10 or a set of five cards for $40. The printing of this card has been graciously donated by Pictorial Offset Corporation, Carlstadt, NJ. The YCS Northern Region Advisory Council initiated the Tribute Card fundraiser and all proceeds will benefit YCS Northern Region programs. Click on the links above to order cards.

Autism Services

YCS Sawtelle Learning Centers are now accepting students

Sawtelle offers individualized education for students ages 3 - 21 who are affected with autism. The Center uses a highly structured, behaviorally based model to meet each student's needs. During the 11 month school year, students receive speech and occupational therapy in addition to educational programming including communication, socialization, recreational, vocational and community skill development.  Our goal is to move students when they are ready into inclusion programs in their school districts.  Please call for more information or to schedule a tour of the school.
